“In January 2010, the Consumer Recovery Investment Funds Self-Directed Care (CRIF SDC) program – a pilot project offered to some individuals with mental health conditions in Delaware County – was fully launched. With the assistance of a peer recovery coach, participants create and control a budget and can hire and manage support staff and purchase goods and services that they need and want to help them work toward recovery. ‘I’m cutting back on services I don’t need and realizing new dreams,’ said CRIF SDC participant Julie Schnepp. ‘Having a mentor and being in control financially of my mental health recovery has made the biggest difference in my life. Self-directed care has gotten me back out in the world.’ ”

“In 2010, MHASP launched Peer Net: mobile peer support in the community. Peer Net expands on the peer support services MHASP already provides by going out into the community, wherever the need is.”

“On September 8, 2010, as the result of MHASP advocacy, the Philadelphia School District Office of School Climate and Safety graduated its first class of Crisis Intervention Team officers.”
