“MHASP’s Parents Involved Network (PIN) launched a project to provide family advocacy services to parents and caregivers with children in the Philadelphia juvenile justice system. PIN advocates staff a desk outside the courtroom; engage in friendly, informal conversation with parents and caregivers whose children have behavioral health problems; and provide advocacy, information/referral services, and ongoing support in English and Spanish.”

“In October 2006, MHASP took WRAP (Wellness Recovery Action Plan) training to Japan. An MHASP division director, Jeanie Whitecraft, was invited to be part of a delegation led by Horizon House, Inc. (a large Philadelphia provider of psychosocial rehabilitation, employment and other services for people with behavioral health needs). (Whitecraft returned to Japan in March 2007 to teach WRAP facilitator training on the island of Kurume, and to be the sole speaker at a symposium in Ichikawa.)”
